Five goals for 2017. Sounds realistic, right?
Goal #1: Become a better storyteller.
Plan of Action: Share my story. Don't be afraid to be vulnerable.
I don't know how I'm going to achieve this but I know it's a crucial skill to learn if I want to take my craft seriously. I know that I have interesting stories to share, it's just a matter of allowing myself to be vulnerable for the public eye to see.
Goal #2: Read more books.
Plan of Action: Read a few pages before going to bed. Read whenever I'm bored or idle.
In line with my first goal, I also want to read more books to improve my vocabulary and expose myself to how established writers share their stories. I aim to read at least 12 books this year, that's one book per month. We're halfway through January and I'm already done with two books.
Goal #3: Learn something new.
Plan of Action: Enroll in a few classes. Watch videos online.
A perpetual life goal. I really want to learn a new language and motion design. I aim to achieve either one of them by the end of the year.
Goal #4: Less travels. More art.
Plan of Action: Create something every week, if not every day.
Less travels? *gasp* It doesn't sound like me at all. I love traveling, I can't stop thinking about it, but I also want to focus on other things that I am passionate about. I'm not saying I won't travel this year, but it won't be the top priority for now.
Goal #5: Stop undervaluing myself.
Plan of Action: Stop undervaluing myself. Believe in yourself.
One of my biggest flaws is that no matter what I have managed to achieve, I always feel incompetent, that I'm never good enough or talented enough. If I want to truly succeed in anything that I do, then this kind of mentality needs to end now.
How about you? What are your goals for this year?
