The Style Mermaid by Kisty Mea • 39/365The Underland Chronicles  The Underland Chronicles is the adventure of an 11-year old boy, Gregor, who falls through a grate in the laundry room of his apartment building in New York. The storyline is similar to Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson and the Olympian series where Percy, a demigod, goes through a quest because a prophecy said so. Instead of dealing with Greek gods and monsters, Gregor has to deal with huge cockroaches, bats, spiders and most especially, rats.  MY REVIEW [SPOILER ALERT] I give the series a 4.5 stars out of five because I was disappointed with the last book but I can’t blame Collins for the ending. If I were in her place, I’ll also have a hard time ending something awesome.  This is Collins’ first book and it was quite book but I can’t help but compare it to its successor, The Hunger Games, because I’ve read it first. The Underland Chronicles was not as exciting as The Hunger Games but it’s a book that I had a hard time putting down.
