The Style Mermaid by Kisty Mea

I’ve read less novels but bought a lot of fashion + art + photography + inspiration books in 2011. I think I was able to collect over 20 books in a span of 12 months. I haven’t finished reading all of them though. I took photos of my book collection last October but I accidentally reformatted my SD card and now, I’m just lazy to do it all over again.
But here’s an Instagram version of some of the books — mostly the ones I brought to Singapore — that I own:

Lauren Conrad’s Style, Keep Calm and Carry On, Bobbi Brown’s Make-up Manual, The Teen Vogue Handbook, Photojojo, and 52 Photographic Projects are some my favorites. :)
If you want to see the rest of my collection (or at least, half of it), check it out here.

Today, the Department of Tourism released a new slogan campaign that will convince tourists all over the world that the Philippines is a destination that’s worth to visit. It’s more fun in the Philippines! Believe me, it is! :)
Moving out of the Philippines made me realize how wonderful it is to be there and I wish I could’ve realized this sooner. Here are SOME (I have so many but I still need to study) of the things why the Philippines is a fun country to go to:
First, the medium of communication. Philippines, as Erwan Heussaff tweeted, is “Asia without the language barrier”. It’s the truth. Filipinos, compared to any other Asian country, are very good in English and even if there are some who aren’t proficient in the language, it’s still very easy to send the message across.
Second, the people. No one can ever beat my countrymen’s hospitality! Not only are we a friendly and funny bunch of people, we are also quite talented and ingenious. Where in the world can you make Multiply.com, originally a social networking site that allow users to share media, a social marketplace online? Hehehe.
Third, the abundant source of reasonable shopping spree! Your USD can go a long, long way here. Singapore doesn’t have a crazy Divisoria, they only have Bugis and I still find the items there too expensive (S$10 is roughly around PHP350). I also miss browsing through online shops, looking for that unique item that will make everyone “wow”. Singapore doesn’t have that, or at least, not that many as there is in the Philippines.
And last but not the least, the food!!! Tuyo, danggit, tapisilog, bagoong, crispy pata, and *drumroll, please* LECHON!!!! Who here doesn’t love Lechon? :P The food is the absolute best! :) Oh, and the world doesn’t have a dancing bumblebee, also known as Jollibee. I’m still craving for my chickenjoy… (OMG, that sounds so wrong).
There are more reasons why the Philippines is a fun country to go to and you can all check out the reasons on Twitter. Check out hashtag #It’sMoreFunInThePhilippines.
I miss the Philippines terribly and I’m looking forward to my two-week break this February. In fact, I’m already making plans on how I’m going to spend the break just told my boyfriend last night (and I didn’t even have any knowledge of the campaign until this morning) that I want to go on a Manila tour when I come back. :P It’s going to be fun! :)
Remember, it’s more fun in the Philippines! Spread the word! :)
