I don’t consider myself a very good writer so lengthy text post like this one don’t happen too often. Life has been a whirlwind (what’s new?) but I could never be more grateful. :)
First things first, I finally finished my course at James Cook University last September! And no, my school is not owned by James Cook from Skins. Cook is, afterall, fictional and that would be really insane if he decide to run a school, lol. I was worried I won’t be able to pass my last term since I enlisted myself to a really difficult subject: Sustainable Enterprise. I tried changing my subject when the term began but because all business subjects have more than 90 students per class, my request got declined. :( Thankfully, some miracle happened and that I passed… aka I’m graduating this May! :)
Right after my last exam at JCU, I went home to spend time with my family and friends. My vacation abruptly ended because I had to go back to Singapore to fix a few things, like the cancellation of my student pass. Apparently, if you don’t cancel your student pass, it’ll be a major offense with immigration! Yikes! Right after the cancellation, the university applied a 30-day visit pass for me so I can stay longer in Singapore and hopefully, find a job.
It took me a while but come November, I got hired. I am now officially an overseas Filipino worker (OFW)! *happy dance* The office is a 30-minute bus ride and the job is not that stressful (hello, I’m typing this in the office). The only thing I didn’t like is the schedule because I also have a 9AM-1PM work every Saturday. But I’m happy, especially when I have Filipino workmates/colleagues to talk to! No more OP (out of place) conversations and frustrating language barrier. I don’t know how I’ll manage my blog though, so I’m trying to queue everything up (as always).
Working here changes a lot of things. For one thing, I won’t be going back to Manila that frequently anymore. So JP (my boyfriend) and I are making visitation plans. He’s going to visit me this February and I’m stoked. <3 A long distance relationship is hard and quite frankly, expensive but we’ll make it work. Second, this country is going to me my home for the next two years (or even longer, if things went swell) and I’m thankful that I’m not alone anymore. In fact, I think I’m finally starting to adjust like a normal human being.
So, that’s about it. I hope everyone’s having a great vacation, if it has already begun. Christmas is just a week away, so do something productive and kind. :) As for me, I’m going on a two-week leave to see my family and friends. And like previous Christmas trips, we’ll be spending it in the happiest place on Earth! *u* Hooray!
From me to you, happy holidays! <3
Boyfriend was nice enough to give me back my Tumblr password this morning. Hehehe. WRONG MOVE. But yeah, I just want to share to you guys what I’ve been up to for the past few days/weeks. I’m always on Twitter though, so you can follow me there.
The past three weeks has been nothing but bubbles of bliss. I don’t think there was a day that I stayed at home, like a full 24-hour kind of thing. I was out most of the time, so to keep my blog appear updated, I scheduled all of my entries at least a day or two. During this vacation, I spent most of it with my family, boyfriend and a number of friends. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to see all of the people I wanted to see because of the never ending conflicts in their schedule (working blues).
The first week was a whirlwind of events. Both my body and brain was exhausted from my 7-hour exam to the shoots and events my family asked me to attend/do. I arrived in Manila on a Tuesday morning but I only had a good night, a full 8-hour sleep, on Friday evening. It was crazy but definitely worth it.
My second week was pretty chill. My boyfriend took a three-day leave for me, so we spent most of the time together. <3 He also helped me dye my hair back to red. Hehe. :) We were supposed to go to Tagaytay but I’ve changed my mind, lol. On days we didn’t go out on a date, my sister and I would bond by getting our nails done, book shopping and baking a chocolate molten rainbow tower cake.
I love how my boyfriend is funny yet incredibly sweet. He is not the affectionate/PDA-in-your-face kind of person but when he does something sweet, it’s quite a life-changing gesture. I’m really happy to have him in my life, both as a best friend and a man that I know I’ll be spending the rest of my life with. Major cheeseballs.
By the third week, I spent the days doing nothing…? I can’t really recall what I did on the first half of my last week in Manila. I had a spa date with Cariza last Wednesday, baked chocolate eclairs on Thursday, went to High Street on Friday, celebrated my mom’s birthday on Saturday and then spent Sunday with my boyfriend.
When Cariza and I had our spa date, we went to my boyfriend’s condo since they had this really nice clubhouse complete with sauna and jacuzzi. They had this (really) hot and (really) cold jacuzzi. It was my first time to try their jacuzzi since it was still under construction the last time I used their facilities. It took me several tries to finally dip my whole body but I was able to feel the nodules at my back (lamig sa katawan) and it was awesome!
So yeah, that’s how my vacation went. I wish I could stay longer but that’s alright, just a few more months and I’ll be home again. I’m really grateful that I have a wonderful set of family, a loving man by my side and awesome friends. <3333 And here I am, back in Singapore… Too lazy to unpack my stuff.
