Manchester is the second largest urban area of the UK, and the world’s first industrialised city. This is clearly evident from their city’s architecture and huge Museum of Science and Industry (MoSI).
Unfortunately, Lucy and I didn’t have enough time to roam around the city (we were supposed to tour the Old Trafford, huhu) because we had a little car trouble. But given that UK’s night time starts at 9PM during the summer, we walked around the city even if most establishments are already close (We arrived in Manchester around 6PM). The look and feel of this city reminds me so much of Quiapo, but 100x cleaner and safer.
The manor is a beautiful but seemingly creepy 16th-century Elizabethan manor located in the center of Shropshire (West Midland). While the manor was converted into a hostel, majority of the structure and design is preserved by the National Trust. I’ll write more about the hostels I stayed in after my BigBlogX series.
My stay at Shropshire was more of a timeout from all the stress and excitement caused by the competition. I spent the whole day appreciating the vast greenery of the countryside while listening to UK band duo, Disclosure.

I’ve been living in the Philippines most of my life (22 years and 51 weeks to be exact). I grew up in Manila but when someone asks me what to see in my city, my usual answer is “I don’t know”. Heck, I can even give you an itinerary if you planning to visit Singapore, but never Manila. I’m so engrossed in visiting another country, immersing myself in their rich culture and history, that I’ve completely forgotten to appreciate my own land…
When in Manila, you should…
Oh, the soft, warm sand and deep, blue sea. Best viewed here.
In this photo, I’m wearing Southshore Beach Shop’s Eliza Top. It’s one of the prizes I’m giving away this month. :)
