10 Photos To Convince You Visit Ethiopia
Ethiopia is located in the Horn of Africa (East Africa) and is considered to be a historical Shangri-La for ancient culture due to the discovery of the oldest hominid, including the famous Lucy, and Christian churches dated from the 13th century. I don't know much about Ethiopia and honestly never considered adding it to my bucket list that is until I did a bit of a research and saw these photos online.
Sunset at the salt lakes of Ahmed Ela in Ethiopia's Danakil Depression, the world's (on average) hottest place, located more than a hundred meters below sea level. Sunset brings quite some relief, as the temperatures drop considerably. Everything is relative, of course, and even the nights remain uncomfortably warm.

A romanticized image of camel caravans going to the salt flats for harvesting. Their lives are anything but! For the Tigray people, one way journey takes 7 days by foot. They walk for upto 15 hours a day. Most of the terrain is the dry, arid, scorching desert. On reaching the salt mines, they load their camels and travel back to the nearest salt market which is 2 days by foot. And this repeats day after day for 9 months in a year.
